Made In The U.S.A., Quality Douglas Tennis Net Posts

The Most Durable, Long-Lasting Posts From Douglas

Douglas® has been the leading American manufacturer of tennis posts for over 50 years. Choose from a wide variety of sizes and styles within the tennis post product line to meet each customer’s specific needs. Douglas’s quality-engineered posts are known to be the most durable, long-lasting posts in the industry. All Douglas tennis posts meet official ITF Tournament Regulations.

Internal vs External Wind Tennis Posts

There are two different winding options for tennis posts: external wind and internal wind. The external wind option means the cable and winding mechanism are exposed on the outside of the post. Whereas an internal wind post means the tennis net cable is fed over the top of the post and into the posts inside winding mechanism. Most users prefer the internal winding system as it looks more seamless and professional. On both options, the handle can be removed and stored elsewhere as a security measure.

Round or Square Tennis Posts

Douglas tennis posts are offered in round or square options. The wide variety of posts also ranges in thickness from 2-7/8” o.d. 8-gauge steel to 3” o.d. round with extra heavy 11-gauge steel wall thickness. The post you choose should depend on the type of tennis court that it’s getting installed on. If the posts are being installed on a high-use public court, a heavy wall steel post is the best option.

A frequent question is “Are round or square net posts better?” It all comes down to personal preference and which post you aesthetically like more.

Tennis Post Color Options

Tennis posts from Douglas are available in black, dark green, or open tournament blue. All posts are manufactured with a thick baked-on powder coat finish. The powder coat creates a smooth durable finish that is rust resistant.

Tennis Post Installation Methods

Douglas offers traditional in-ground tennis posts, surface mount tennis posts, and even a full-size portable tennis system.

Standard in-ground tennis net posts may be permanently installed into the court's surface, but it’s recommended that they are set in-ground sleeves. Setting the posts in sleeves is more expensive initially but in addition to allowing multiple uses for the court, such installation prevents the future need to dig up the court to replace old posts.

Surface mount posts are gaining popularity since ground sleeves are not required for installation. Surface mounts are ideal for converting and repurposing courts.
